When I was chatting daily with (mostly) women in the throes of infertility treatment, it was so common to be approached for unused fertility drugs that I had to prominently display clear warnings all over the About.com Web community I ran.
"Any attempt to post messages here or to contact individuals you've become acquainted with here regarding the proposed exchange of fertility medication will result in your membership being banned from further use in the community." I and my volunteer managers found ourselves routinely patrolling the virtual hallways for cryptic drug deals.
Just in case folks who are newer to the whole "How Do I Afford Infertility Treatment?" scene haven't heard yet, selling leftover medications (even if you didn't procure the meds for the purpose of reselling, as it seems Heidi Benham may have) is illegal. Way.
This article says the New Jersey woman (who lived in Massachusetts during her selling spree that netted more than $100k) now faces up to 20 years in prison.
